Clinical Endpoints
Progression-Free Survival
Also known as: PFS, Time to progression
Definition
Time from treatment start until disease progression or death, a key clinical trial endpoint.
Detailed Explanation
PFS measures how long a treatment controls cancer before it grows or spreads. Unlike overall survival, PFS isn't affected by subsequent therapies. Commonly used for regulatory approval. Median PFS means half of patients progressed before this time. Hazard ratios compare PFS between treatment arms.
